North eSIM

Pre-flight checklist

Install once. Land connected.

Ten quiet minutes before your flight is all it takes. The plan starts when you first connect at your destination — not when you buy.

iPhone

  1. Install on Wi-Fi before you fly

Open the install link or scan the QR from your order page while you still have Wi-Fi. Installing early is safe — the plan does not start until you land.

  2. Label the line

When iOS asks, name the new line something like "Travel" so you can tell it apart from your primary SIM later.

  3. Set it as your data line

In Settings → Cellular, set "Travel" as your Default Voice Line stays your primary number; Mobile Data goes to "Travel". Turn off "Allow Cellular Data Switching" so iOS never quietly uses your home SIM.

  4. Turn on your travel line when you land

Toggle "Turn On This Line" for the Travel eSIM once you arrive. It connects to a local network and your data starts — that moment is when validity begins.

  5. Disable roaming on your primary SIM

Settings → Cellular → your home line → Data Roaming: OFF. This is the single setting that prevents surprise roaming charges. The eSIM's own roaming stays ON if the plan requires it (most travel plans do).

Android

Menu names may differ depending on your device and Android version.

  1. Install on Wi-Fi before you fly

Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add eSIM, then scan the QR from your order page. Menu names may differ depending on your device and Android version.

  2. Set data preference

In SIMs settings, choose the travel eSIM as your preferred SIM for mobile data. Calls and texts stay on your primary SIM.

  3. Turn it on when you land

Enable the travel eSIM after arrival. It registers on a local network and your plan starts — that moment is when validity begins.

  4. Disable roaming on your primary SIM

In your primary SIM's settings, switch Data Roaming OFF. Leave the travel eSIM's roaming ON if the plan requires it (most travel plans do).

If something doesn't work

No signal after landing

Check the travel eSIM is ON, Mobile Data points to it, and Data Roaming is ON for the eSIM itself. Then toggle Airplane Mode once. Most eSIMs register within a minute of landing.

Connected but no internet

Verify APN settings match what your order page lists (if any), and confirm Mobile Data is on the travel line, not your home SIM.

QR won't scan

Use the one-tap install link from the order page instead — it opens the same activation without the camera. You can also email the QR to yourself and open it on the phone.

Plan already shows used data

Some plans begin counting from first connection, not first data use. Your order page shows the exact rule for your plan.

Still stuck? Open your order page and use "Get help with this order" — support sees your plan and status automatically.
